1. Program Design vs. Random Workouts
You can learn all that kinesiology has to offer, but if you can’t transform that knowledge into a program that’s right for your client then it’s all for naught. It is the responsibility of the trainer to take a deep dive into the activity history, injury history, lifestyle, goals, etc. to determine which exercises will accomplish what goals with the least amount of detriment and the greatest amount of effectiveness. And to accomplish this feat, you must be extremely detailed in all facets of training.
*If you need help designing a program, please contact me for assistance. Many athletes know how to exercise but just need a program to meet their needs. I will design a personalized program complete with reference videos I created myself.

2. Journals vs. Books
I’ve always thought of myself as a reader but never a researcher. Grad school has taught me that I am both. As challenging as research methods were for me, it has helped me understand that sports performance science is based upon research and that the books I read are just summaries of these efforts. Having realized this fact, I now conduct my own research if I need clarity when designing programs to meet your specific needs. I am a researcher first, reader second, and trainer third.
3. Leaders vs. Followers
Leaders lead! These words changed my approach to how I lead my business, as well as how I show up in life. Step up without being asked to do so. Share whenever possible. Show up in an amiable manner. Treat everyone the way you would like to be treated. Get to know yourself by taking emotional IQ and personality tests to get to know yourself better so you can understand others better. Don’t be afraid to admit your weaknesses and seek help to improve. Learn for the sake of learning!
